Reality Check
I don’t watch TV that often but a sista got some, uh, free time so I caught up with this show my lil sis likes to watch called The Player, which is filmed in Miami. There’s this white girl who has all these guys competing to be the last man standing and reign as the official Top Player.
So, I’ve only seen two partial episodes the show, but this chick has her friends on there supposedly helping her to pick the right man and they are HATING on her. I mean, don’t get mad at the girl because she got picked to be on the show and you didn’t. Then you come on there and start drama cuz u on the sidelines. Anyway, tonight, Chyno, the finest man on the doggone show got booted off!
Come on, Chyno was the man that Dawn actually cared about. When her friends, THE HATERS, chose him to leave, Dawn was stunned and didn’t even deliver her highly repetitive trademark remark, “Don’t hate the player, hate the game.” Instead she rolled her eyes at her friends and stormed into the house, obviously upset. Why would they knowingly vote off the one man she actually liked?!
And this guy, Acie, is still in the game. He actually looks a lot like a guy I knew in Gainesville named Trevis. That was really funny.
Speaking of TV, what’s up with this show called Nip Tuck? I don’t even want to link info about it. I only heard ppl saying it was a good show, but I never watched it until one night I was out to dinner and it was playing in the restaurant. I couldn’t hear a thing but I saw this guy having sex with a mannequin. Excuse me, he was having “Halle Berry in Monster Ball” type of sex with this doll. I was so confused. This was a basic cable channel. After everyone in the restaurant noticed that this was playing in the bar area, EVERYONE was literally staring with their mouths open, one of the staff came over and turned it off.
Ugh. I tried to watch the show last night but it made me sad and confused even more. These ppl are rich and successful and are still miserable. I don’t find misfortune entertaining at all and this show has caused quite a controversy even in prisons.
Point is, I know if I’m trying to keep my mind stayed on Jesus I have to stay away from the majority of garbage that television programming has to offer. I’m not even gonna reveal the freaky thoughts that were running through my mind after watching Nip Tuck.
I’m a changed woman. I don’t like those things anymore. Gotta keep renewing my mind.
Yeah… Ooh boy.
