Last week I went to a spot with DEEP and he introduced me to this guy who said he worked for one of the biggest record labels down here. I did my thang and we exchanged a few words. Tonight he called me up and invited me to their offices downtown. At first I didn’t want to drive all the way downtown cuz…I didn’t feel like it. But I didn’t have anything else to do so I said, “May as well.”
I’m glad I did. Not only did I meet the President of the label and hang with him in his office, they offered me a staff position as a writer with the site and they said I can have total creative freedom with their full support.
Like..I can’t even believe this at all. Like, this is probably THE biggest hiphop website that is based down here. This website ONLY writes about the hit makers. There will be no more aspiring artist interviews. TOP DOGS ONLY. Shit..Thank God I have DEEP cuz he teaches me so much about the rap game and I get to watch him as he tries to maneuver toward success.
Now..if only I can get my Krib TV show running smoothly…Every week there’s something crazy going on. I don’t even have a guest for next week’s show yet. No one has responded. I’m grateful for the opportunity but it’s a lot of work. Not to mention that other website that I promised to write for regularly…
And school…. ugh.
And just…trying not to be overwhelmed by the magnitude of these new beginnings. Lord…help me to keep my head above water.
